Hey there! My name is Emma Spellman and I am an English Major at Grand Canyon University! When I’m not in class or writing a paper, I’m either reading a book, writing a book, or at the track. 

This blog is to show how multicultural literature from the 20th Century can be applied globally to some of the most recognizable parts of our pop culture. It’s truly incredible how themes from an ancient story like Genji is still relevant today and evident in shows such as Gossip Girl. If I had to pick a favorite author from this series, I would have to go with the first author we read, Leo Tolstoy, but James Baldwin was a close second.
